I recently was asked by a potential client if I knew any dietitians or nutritionists she could consult with. She will have surgery within the next 4-6 weeks, and the surgeon has asked her to improve her nutrition before surgery. I don't know all of the details, like exactly which nutrients she is low in. I don't know any, but asked around among my clinical contacts and found one, but very few of my contacts knew anyone. My question is - where does one search for a dietitian or nutritionist, outside of a hospital? Most dietitians I have known are employed by hospitals or clinics. I need someone who can address a fairly complicated clinical situation. Thanks, everyone. -Lauren. -- Lauren Bond, RN, BSN, MS Director of Client Services, Overland Park office, Care is There Geriatric Care Management LaurenB@CareisThere.com 913-815-1486 ext 15 www.careisthere.com
